Rewarded with a deep multi-century history of load bearing masonry buildings, Pensacola attracts visitors that seek the vibrancy that characterizes urban renewal success stories spanning our country coast to coast. Unfortunately, numerous historic buildings were razed for widening of roadways or replaced with parking lots. Located on a corner parcel that serves as a gateway to Pensacola’s recently established East Garden District, the building is an architectural representation of the native Pensacolian, London-trained chef/proprietor who is known for blending traditional Southern comfort food with unique culinary twists. The building exterior humbly projects a building vernacular that can co-exist with numerous historic mercantile buildings that populate the city’s 20 acre Downtown Historic District. Vertical dimensions to top of parapet, large windows with mullions, as well as the rhythm of cast iron columns that define a covered seating arcade are incorporated to recall, yet not replicate, the former building on the site. Upon entering the building through the E. Garden Street, the patron is greeted with shimmering reflective tile surfaces that serve as a backdrop to industrial aesthetic honesty and functionality. Seating suggests a more casual dining experience with numerous options to glide into a linear banquette at the bar or enjoy a more intimate conversation within a booth setting
